The sound in the desert that no one hears

Ok, my wonderful students (and audience), I have a proverbial question for you: If there is a sound in a desert that no one hears, is it a sound? Is that too deep for you? Well, it relates to today's lesson on audience because I am starting to feel like this blog is the sound in the desert that no one hears. So I am going to force this issue and require you as part of today's Writer's Workshop to post your comments below instead of on a worksheet. At least this way, I can gather some semblance of an audience here on this blog. Tell me who you (my audience) are. Tell me what you thought about today's lesson on audience. Tell me about your favorite audience. Be thoughtful. Be creative. Be kind.
Thank you!

  2. Today's lesson relating to audience was challenging. It made me think and I even got stuck on some points. My favorite audience is myself. Myself is my favorite audience because I give my own opinions and statements I even get to revise and critique myself. I feel If its a sound in the desert that no one hears it is still a sound. I feel that way because sometimes you can't hear things because your not really listening. For example that's like saying you can't see air so you can't breathe it. To me that makes no sense if you honestly put your mind to it you'll eventually see what you've not being seeing all along.

  3. My most favorite audience i would have to say would be the people who love me the most which are my family and friends. I can always be honest on what i say or even do around them. But if there is something that seems to be bothering them believe me i would know within a heartbeat. What i say mostly seems to reflect the people around me.

  6. Ooops. The proverbial question is actually if a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it or sees it, did it really fall? Thank you Stephanie for reminding me.

  7. The lesson today ties in with the Journal Prompt, the essential questions and the statements. Just because no one hears " the blog " , doesn't mean it doesn't exist. A lot of things in life are ignored but it doesn't stop existing. Overall, this is a good lesson, despite the fact that I hate computers. And, there's a difference between hearing and listening. Which one do you want your audience to do?
